Closed Beta Test Survey Results and Future Initiatives

Thank you for your interest in SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS 2025.

Thank you very much to everyone who joined the SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS 2025 Closed Beta Test held from 7 August 2025.

We're thrilled that so many of you were able to participate and send us feedback. Your survey responses and the comments we received on our official Discord channel and across social media have been a huge encouragement to us.

We would also like to sincerely apologise that it took so long to announce these results following the end of the Closed Beta Test. We took this time to consider the many opinions we received from you and to determine our course of action going forward.
With our plans now set, we announced the Closed Beta Test survey results along with our upcoming development initiatives during the "Let's Chat with Producer Hisai!" event on our official Discord on 24 September.

This notice summarises the Closed Beta Test survey results and the planned next steps we shared during the "Let's Chat with Producer Hisai!" Discord event. This announcement also contains excerpts of Hisai's comments from the session. Be sure to have a look, and stay tuned for more details.

Producer Hisai's Comment
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Closed Beta Test. The enthusiasm you all showed far exceeded our expectations!

These are the overall satisfaction levels of those who played the Closed Beta Test. 89% of users rated the game as "Somewhat fun" or better, which we were thrilled to see. For those who responded with "Somewhat dull" or lower, we are committed to making improvements so that you will also be able to enjoy the game.

The most rewarding part of development for us has been seeing players react to the game, whether it be praise or criticism. We will draw inspiration from your responses as we move forward.

Continuing on, over 90.7% of players believed that Career Mode was "Somewhat fun" or better, with over 70% rating it as "fun" or better. While Career Mode got great feedback, we also received many requests. We'll be making improvements and adding new features to further enhance the experience.

On the other hand, only around 50% of players were satisfied with Dream Team Mode, so we feel that's an area that we need to work on. 28% of players hadn't even played World Premiership, suggesting that many were unable to progress to this point.
We believe the high difficulty of the Tour you must beat to unlock World Premiership was one of the primary causes.
We plan to rectify this issue by rebalancing the Tours while also enhancing the participation rewards.

Producer Hisai's Comment
For the question, "How interested are you in playing once the game officially launches?", 92.1% of participants responded positively.
While we recognise that those who take part in a Closed Beta Test are often highly enthusiastic, we are truly delighted that so many players voiced their interest in playing the game.

We will endeavour to address your feedback and requests so that beta test participants will be even more satisfied, while also ensuring that those who, unfortunately, were unable to join will also find the game fun and worth recommending.

Although there were several other issues, these are the main bugs that occurred during the Closed Beta Test. We are very sorry that there were issues that made it difficult to continue playing, and in some cases, prevented play altogether. We are taking steps to fix them.

We have identified the causes of the issues that occurred during the beta test and have already implemented fixes.
In order to ensure a safe and reliable playing experience at launch, we have increased the size of our debugging team and are strengthening our systems for early detection and correction.

Producer Hisai's Comment
• The Tours are too difficult.
We will be making them a bit easier. Specifically, the first Asia Tour unlocks World Premiership, so we will be reducing both its difficulty and the number of destinations.

• It's hard to raise your Manager Level.
Since your Manager Level determines the features you unlock, some felt as though they weren't making much progress. Tours were intended to be an easy way to raise your Manager Level, but since they were so difficult, many had trouble levelling up.
By adjusting the difficulty of the Tours, the issues with raising Manager Levels should be alleviated.
We are also adding new missions that provide Manager EXP, making it easier to level up.

• Some CPU clubs are overpowered.
In the game, CPU clubs also compete in their own matches, but some clubs at the top of the league table ended up being too strong, leading to a fixed ranking order.
This meant that users had to win every single match to have a shot at the championship. To fix this, we'll be adjusting the logic behind the CPU clubs.
In real leagues, it's not unusual for a few clubs to dominate, and we wanted to reflect that in the game. That said, our priority is to make the experience more enjoyable, so we'll be rebalancing the CPU clubs so that they're not too powerful or overwhelming.

• Only weak players appear on the Scouting List.
As your club starts to get stronger around the third year of Career Mode, the players shown on the Scouting List start to feel underwhelming, causing many to ignore it and rely only on direct offers.

One of the major appeals of Career Mode is the sense of anticipation and excitement you get from signing new players you found on the Scouting List. To bring back that feeling, we'll be improving the scouting logic.
We also plan to add a new investment option that lets you boost your scouting ability, as well as other meaningful choices to club management, such as whether to upgrade your scouting or earn funds.

• There's little benefit in raising the League Level.
Many were pleased with the introduction of league levels.
However, CPU clubs merely became stronger without offering any particular advantages or rewards. To address this, we'll be adding special effects when you level up and offering even better rewards.

Producer Hisai's Comment
Players' Growing phases are too short.
We will revisit the issue of the Growing phase being too short.
In Career Mode, players you sign only have a one-year Growing phase, making it hard to train and develop your favourites. We'll be making adjustments since player development is such a core part of the game.

• Condition resets each season.
Before, player condition would reset when the season ended and a new one began.
In Career Mode, player condition affects the results of Special Training. This meant that even if you kept your players in top condition until the end of a season, the reset would make it difficult to do Special Training at the start of the following one. Since managing player condition is integral to the game, we'll adjust so that condition carries over between seasons.

• Some player positions are incorrect, and their stats seem outdated.
We believe this is due to the Closed Beta Test using data from the previous season. For the official release, autumn-spring leagues will use 2025-26 season stats updated with this summer's transfers, while spring-autumn leagues will use the latest 2025 season stats.

• Transfer negotiations are too simplistic.
At first, many players seemed to enjoy transfer negotiations, but after repeating them several times, the optimal choices became predictable and the process began to feel monotonous.
By using players' internal data, we'll add more variety so the process feels less repetitive.

• CPU club players are fixed and lack variety.
During the Closed Beta Test, CPU clubs hardly changed their lineups even after multiple seasons. Players didn't transfer out, and those who had reached their prime stayed put.
Our original vision included having players transfer to unexpected leagues or clubs, and veteran players in their Declining phase moving to lower-level leagues for a fresh challenge.

Since it's not your club, you may not always notice it, but we think little surprises, such as spotting a star player on an unexpected team, would make the game more enjoyable. We'll be working to bring you those moments.

Producer Hisai's Comment
We've had many requests for features from past games, so here's how we plan to address them.

• Overseas training and loan transfers
We plan to implement this before the official launch.
This was referred to as studying abroad or loan transfers in past titles. In both cases, a player would move to another club for a set period and come back with boosted stats and attributes. We plan to add different growth elements depending on the club a player transfers to, so stay tuned.

• Clubhouse
We plan to implement this before the official launch.
During the Closed Beta Test, you could build facilities around the stadium and inside it, but unlike older games, there wasn't a dedicated clubhouse feature that boosted training effects.
We plan to separate the town feature from the stadium and introduce facilities from past games. This is just one example, but we could add something like the sauna to allow for fatigue recovery and reduced injury rates.

• Contract renewals
This refers to the salary adjustment feature from previous titles, where player wages could be reduced at the end of the season.
This feature has a slightly lower priority than others. To deliver the many improvements and additions planned before the official launch, we need to make choices and choose what to prioritise. We hope you understand.
That said, we're actively considering it as a possible feature for a future update.

• Live match commentary
Match commentary wasn't included in our plans for the game, so adding it in the near future may be difficult.
We did want to work on this feature and even tried to factor it into the development workload, but we discovered it would take quite a bit of time and resources, so we can't promise its implementation at this juncture.

• Multiple save slots for Career Mode
We plan to implement this before the official launch.
If, for example, you wanted to retry after making a mistake or experiment with another club, you had to delete your data or re-download the game. Since this was such a highly requested feature, and having to re-download is not an ideal way to play, we want to give users the ability to keep multiple save files no matter what.

This concludes the summary of the Closed Beta Test survey results and our future initiatives.

We also received many other comments, requests, and questions beyond what's covered here, some of which were already answered during "Let's Chat with Producer Hisai!" on Discord.

We'd like to hold more events like this in the future, so we'd love for you to join us on the official Discord channel!
