Director's Letter - Ver. 1.1 Update

Thank you for playing SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS.
This is Director Funakoshi.

I'd like to share some new updates with all of you. Some of this information will overlap with our recent live stream, but we've also included some new details, so please give this a read.

In our first update since release, we have implemented the following changes.
We understand that a lot of this should have been ready by launch, and sincerely apologise that it took so long to make these improvements.

The details are as follows.

Bug Fixes

The Bug Report page will be updated after maintenance. Below are several frequently reported issues.

• Advancement speed resets after communication errors
• Starter appearances not counting toward objectives
• Unable to hold one-on-one meetings
• All volume settings are set to 0

We deeply regret that these incredibly frustrating issues have hindered the playing experience for so many.
All of the above have been addressed in Version 1.1.
In particular, the starting lineup and one-on-one meeting issues directly impacted player growth, and we've received many comments from players who are losing motivation to continue, or even those who have completely dropped the game. We sincerely apologise once again.
We will continue working to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.

Feature Updates

A range of improvements to existing features have been implemented, including the addition of new events.
Moving forward, we plan to roll out monthly updates to refine the game.

We have also received feedback requesting faster fixes to game stability and bugs.
Development is currently progressing on multiple fronts, with some initiatives having been underway for as long as six months.
While we will continue putting our all into fixing the areas that need improvement, this work will be done in tandem with our ongoing commitments. Your understanding would be greatly appreciated.

WPS Contest
The World Premiership Contest will begin after maintenance ends.
Play World Premiership during the event to earn special points. Accumulate points to receive rewards and compete in daily rankings within groups of 30 users.
Formation Combos for each approach are now available as rewards.
Although these are silver rarity, we have seen a number of comments noting that users would rather save their Formation Coins for gold rarity ones since they're so difficult to obtain. While not part of the original plan, we quickly changed course and decided to add them.
Additional rewards are also available, including 3,000 GB for reaching the final tier.
The Daily Ranking is designed to provide a casual daily viewing experience with fun team-building elements, letting you compete against managers around your Division.
As such, exclusive rewards such as titles will not be available. Instead, rewards include Rainbow Pieces for player Limit Breaks and Training Card Pieces (SR).
The first World Premiership reset will be free, with subsequent resets available at half cost. We hope you'll take this opportunity to participate.

For more details, stay tuned for the announcement following the update.

Champions Cup
The Champions Cup is an event scheduled to begin in late February, where users compete for the championship.
As it is difficult to cover every aspect of this event in a single message, please stay tuned for more details.
To summarise, the event will proceed in this order: Entry Period → Qualifiers → Final.
Classes will be determined based on the results of the Qualifier.
Higher classes offer better rewards and exclusive titles.
This event tests how strong a team you can build through your day-to-day management.
Keep training your team as you await the next update.

Improvements to Daily & Weekly Missions
Adjustments have been made to how missions function as well as the UI.
Previously, you would need to play both World Premiership and Career Mode to complete all missions. With this update, all missions can now be completed by playing either mode.
From the early stages of development, we envisioned a game that catered to a variety of lifestyles, where managers could sink their teeth into Career Mode on their days off and enjoy quick Dream Team Mode matches when they had less free time.
We also understand that some users prefer short daily sessions focused solely on Career Mode. While we intended to support this range of playstyles from launch, we are deeply sorry that these adjustments had to be pushed back due to development priorities.
Rewards have also been slightly increased.

Manager Lv. Unlock Details

kantokuLv.png

We have received feedback that the Manager Lv. unlocks are not clearly listed in one place, making it difficult to determine what levels to aim for.
To address this, unlockables can now be viewed through the method shown in the image above.

Prime Player Tags

SPchartag.png

You can now apply tags like the ones shown above to Prime Players.
This feature will help streamline the process for picking Prime Players to add to Career Mode, letting you mark Prime Players for Formation Combo activation, future training, and more.
You can assign up to four types of tags and sort by tag. We hope you find this feature helpful.

MCO Button Notification Badge
Previously, you had to manually check when other members posted in the chat or you had unclaimed login bonuses.
Due to other high-priority bug fixes, this addition was unfortunately delayed until this update.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Spectating Private Tournaments
This feature is available exclusively in private tournaments and allows users to spectate matches and view replays.
We hope this helps reduce downtime after a defeat and proves useful for tournament live streams.

Tour Rematch Button
A Rematch button has been added so that you no longer need to reselect the same team when aiming to clear specific missions in a Tour.

Prime Player Upgrade Screen Adjustments

SPchartraining.png

The Prime Player Upgrade screen has been updated as shown above.
This change puts all upgrade options on one screen, making it easier to upgrade multiple attributes at once.

Breakthrough Cursor Adjustment
The Breakthrough selection process has been adjusted.
With this change, the cursor will automatically hover over the option that yields the highest Stat increase.
This is intended to save time for users who don't want to spend time worrying about which option gives the greatest boost each time. However, keep in mind that following this recommendation may not always be the optimal choice for player growth.
Depending on your plans for the player's growth, available Training Cards, and the player's attributes, selecting other options may sometimes be preferable.

Extra Coins
Rainbow Pieces have been added to the Extra Coin Trader.
100 Extra Coins can be exchanged for 1 Rainbow Piece.

Other Updates and Ongoing Developments

The following improvements have also been made:

• New assistant comments have been added to the Career Mode Home screen.
• Formation Combos can now be sorted by order acquired.
• The Stats Up filter has been added for Training Cards in Career Mode.
• On the Team Lineup screen, the process for swapping a player in your team with a duplicate player has been adjusted.
• Details on locked Formation Combos are now viewable in the Formation Coin Trader.
• The process for selecting skills and abilities during Special Training has been adjusted.
• You can now change your assistant from the save data selection screen.

In addition to the above, we would like to highlight some initiatives that are currently in development.
While it's difficult to determine which versions these will be included in, our team is working to implement them as quickly as possible.

Check Time Remaining in Stage of Development
While the stage of development's duration is displayed in cases such as when players are out on loan, it is not visible on the Scouting List and other screens. It will now show up in those areas as well.

Carry Over Funds When Returning to Club
Even if you have $10B when transferring clubs while using the same save data, your funds are currently reset to the club's initial amount (e.g., $1B) when you return.
We have received significant feedback identifying this as a point of frustration when moving between leagues and clubs, and we are currently working on a fix.

Search by Playstyle Level
When searching for specific players, you can search by playstyle but not by playstyle level.
Adjustments will be made so that playstyle level can also be used as a search filter.

Match Behaviour
We would like to address player behaviour during matches.
Certain player motions during matches are unnatural, such as goalkeeper, offside, and diving movements. We recognise that this detracts from the realism of matches.
In sharing this, it is important to note that adjustments to in-match behaviour require more careful handling than other types of fixes.
Changes to match behaviour, not limited to those listed above, are linked to factors such as skill activation rates and player positioning, and may affect match win rates.
As such, we will conduct thorough simulations and testing based on previously validated win-rate data before implementing these changes in an update.
We will work to conclude testing as quickly as possible and would like to ask for your patience during this time.

Controller Inputs
It has come to our attention that the current controls when using a controller on various platforms still have room for improvement.
Improvements will gradually be rolled out, starting with the next update.

Award Ceremonies
We understand that having to view award ceremony scenes back-to-back can be frustrating.
Our team is currently working on adding a way to skip these through the Options menu.

Closing Remarks

I apologise for the lengthy message, and would like to thank you for taking the time to read it.
We would like to once again express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has shared their feedback and requests with us.

In appreciation of your cooperation with the updates and for playing our game every day,
all managers will receive 10 Prime Scouting Tickets after the update.
We hope you continue to support SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS.
